Living La Vida Colarante

So everyday I get to live the dyeing life. A life crafted of yarn, horses, land, assorted pets, and my work. My life/My work. They really do blend together.

Everyday I get to walk 15 steps to our studio. And everyday I get to take a mental health break and visit with my crew in the pasture. It's a life purposefully crafted to be sustainable for me and mine.

If I constantly worked with numbers, I'd go numb. If I wrote all day, I'd be fried. The physicality of yarn dyeing keeps me connected to my body. The design, development and creation of yarn bases, colorways and inspiration keep me mentally dancing. Collaboration with incredibly talented designers and shop owners nurtures my need for community. Listening to feedback, ideas and expressions of love from our customers feeds my commitment to making Shalimar the most excellent product and knitting experience possible.

Creating a beautiful, usable and sustainable product is the ultimate goal of Shalimar Yarns. Our customers have become a treasured part of our life and work. We are so grateful to every customer friend we have had the pleasure of sharing a part of our life and work with. Thank you.
